I love that you start and end with the childhood taunt, Kathleen! And it's such a playful one.
I had to look up 'Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.' to remember it was Oscar Wilde. What a wordsmith!
Were you knowingly quoting the Course or just intuiting it? The first page summarizes the book: "Whatever is real can't be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Therein lies the peace of God."
I was just thinking that we're always talking to our Self. I'm so grateful to have you as such an insightful and perceptive avatar of Me (the inclusive one) to tell me things I need to hear, and give attention to. I receive so much wisdom from you, my friend.
Another one I remember: "Some cause happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go."
Yes, a way with the words and a real wiseass.
I wasn't consciously quoting it - and TBH I would have guessed the source was was Hindu in origin, it all tends to muddle over time. Now that you remind me of course it's from A Course! ! :-)
This! 🥰🔥🙏 This is something I will read and reread until it sinks in at a cellular and spiritual level. Having just endured/reacted to yet another weather weapon (tornadoes, atmospheric river!!! And major flooding), I needed this reminder. So much trauma inflicted upon us; so much fear, chaos, destruction. Yet we will not only survive, we will thrive. We will rise and shine amidst their inferior darkness. Thank you for this reminder.🥰
Hey, Kathleen, I love this. It's very encouraging and comforting. It's not fun though going through personal distillation and collective distillation simultaneously. I do want to believe that they're making us all crazy because they are actually freaking out, and they're freaking out because they know we've got their number. It's a good thing that they are so full of themselves, egomaniacs, that they think nothing can touch them. We'll see about that!
I love all the colorful images you embedded into this post. And the old song, "anything they can do we can do better..." "YES We Can".
No, it's not fun but ultimately a better version of us emerges. I really believe that. I imagine as it continues to break down, all those inventions - whether for personal healing or cheap energy - will also come out. There is a whole backlog of knowledge that has been stymied for decades.
And can you imagine how much better we'll feel once our skies, water and food are no longer being messed with ? Once our health-care is actually about making us healthy?
Darkest before the dawn as they say - I feel like we're getting close. (I really hope months, not years, but no point in focusing on that.)
Thanks for comment and read. Best to you, friend. 💖
Oh, I'm counting on that, the inventions for personal healing and cheap energy! I've been waiting for that since I used to listen to that nighttime radio show, "Coast to Coast" with Art Bell way back when.
Okay, you've convinced me. It is pretty exciting, "getting close", I hope so, but will keep plugging along in the meantime.
I did receive your "Direct Message", thank you! and you are very welcome. The feelings are "mucho" mutual." xoxo
Life is full of small wonders. My wife, enthralled with the 9-passenger van we recently got, loaded it up with neighborhood kids to visit Kyiv's "banana farm."
It is one guy, in his own 4br house out in the sticks, with a couple of greenhouses and an amazing story. Growing limes, lemons, kumquats and oranges - off of the same tree, via grafting! Dwarf banana trees and pineapples for city balconies.
But most amazing is his wife's oshibana. Ikibana is the art of arranging fresh flowers. Oshibana uses dried vegetation to create amazing works of art.
Visiting them was a treat, a hidden treasure in a country that continues to amaze. Their website, like their whole operation, is totally homemade. Not elaborate, but a window into the lives of ordinary but yet very extraordinary people. Follow it and enjoy.

Thanks for sharing the link and this comment Graham- you nailed the deeper point.
We will tap those 'extraordinary' reserves when we need to and find our own impressive solutions.
Absolutely spot on, Kathleen. They are terrified of us! Here in the UK it is illegal to conduct silent vigil or prayer in public, or in your own home where someone can see you through a window, in case they may be 'motivated to cause harm' to an abortion or transgender clinic or people attending them. That is how scared they are.
Yes agree, they are running scared - and becoming increasingly obvious in the process. Which is great for igniting more individual flames and really bad for them. Tactics like that scream desperation.
Kathleen, every time I say, "This is my favorite post of yours!" you come along with another one. :) Of course, there's something half-written in my Dashboard in which this will be a perfect share. Our writing muses seem to be related, and I see them giggling together now. 👭
"If the world is not what we thought it was, then we are not who we thought we were." As within, so without. There are so many references to this concept, I guess because it's the truth.
And from my artist's eye(s) perspective, your pieces are enjoyable to read because of your sense of color and the images you choose. I loved them all.
Thanks for another dose of your wisdom, Kathleen. XOXO
Thank you, Barbara - I agree on the writing muses. My favorite substack writers - you included - no doubt, overtime, inform and influence my own posts and I love that fluidity. We get better together. ❤️
Hi to Gone Away Pond and all its inhabitants. :-) XOX
By god, I love this post. This: "Programmed from birth, given the roadmaps complete with the guardrails;" and this: "It’s not that we are at the mercy of them and must perpetually respond to their latest move, it’s that they are at the mercy of us;" and of course, this: "We are in charge of this massive undoing." You've reframed this world in the light of pure truth, and I'm so grateful. As more and more people look through THIS window, the sooner comes the undoing, the transformation. Absolutely perfect and brilliant, Kathleen. Thank you. xoxox
I was thinking how the Overton Window is shifting, and our governments will soon be falling outside of it. When the duopoly framing really goes, then things get interesting! XOX
Oh how this song brought me back to a time when I thought I still had forever to live out this lifetime. Tears of grief and also relief as I felt the impact of the then gathering and now present storm. And what I feel after all that deep feeling, is the innocence! Innocence is a great part of that ‘underlying intelligence’ that we are. Once all of the roles and identities are lived and discarded there’s still us, still innocent and pure. Thank you Kathleen for this deep ponder. And Rob for pairing the song. It moved me to a sad and sweet place. Love to you.
"Once all of the roles and identities are lived and discarded there’s still us, still innocent and pure."
And,
"It moved me to a sad and sweet place."
Exactly that, Kathleen, thanks for your distillation. Beautifully expressed.
It's not an easy thing - moving through the feelings that go with those identities - (hold them lightly) - but on the other side is always more space more freedom, since we get closer to who we really are which can't be confined at all.) What a process we are all in!
Beautifully said, Well done. No one teaches a kitten to love. No one teaches the birds to fly nor sing. They are terrified of us, our Divine light and inner power to be embracing the ideas you laid out.
We are infinite eternal death has no power, their strangulation by force of poisons, guilt, name calling, gas lighting, only boomerangs back to their souless power control grabs. Rebuke the enemy and be your own Light they
The truth doesn't require PR and propaganda. It sells itself.

It also reminds me of a song.

Don Henley
"The End Of The Innocence"
Remember when the days were long
And rolled beneath a deep blue sky
Didn't have a care in the world
With mommy and daddy standin' by
But "happily ever after" fails
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers dwell on small details
Since daddy had to fly
But I know a place where we can go
That's still untouched by men
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
You can lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
O' beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They're beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
But I know a place where we can go
And wash away this sin
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
Who knows how long this will last
Now we've come so far, so fast
But, somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us
I need to remember this
So baby give me just one kiss
And let me take a long last look
Before we say goodbye
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
Oh I do love that song, Rob, and Henley's singing of it.
Thanks for the links - I'll check them out.
Best.
Thanks for the Don Henley share, Rob! I'm listening while reading the lyrics you provided! Love that song....

That's so kind, Tereza. You do the same for me. 😘
HAhaha!! Talk about a Wilde card!
I always have Mr. Ed running through my head when I say, 'Of course it's the Course.' Of course, of course.
"I always have Mr. Ed running through my head when I say, 'Of course it's the Course.'"
And now I do! Eh, it could be worse. Doesn't that feel like a wholly other lifetime?
Gosh...Oscar Wilde. I was a bit obsessed with him back in the day!
And the CIM... I've never read/studied it myself, but there are so many gems there.
Love this comment, Tereza. XO
Excellent reminder of our personal power, purpose.
Thank you, Trish! 💕

Thanks James. Love the comment.
So agree. When we remember who we are - it's our superpower. Infinite beings don't get cowered by bullies. They stand strong and light up.
Best to you. 🔥
All the best to you too!!! 🔥
Lovely and how fun for it to ride along with a classic song! Yes I can yes I can yes I CAN! ❣️
They are looking pretty childish so seemed appropriate.
Thank you, CM! 😘
Kathleen,
I enjoyed your post.
“Be yourself, everyone else is taken.”
A wise aspiration, yet for many, not that apparent.
I’d like to offer something similar related to identity, a fragile component of the human condition that is not a clear vision for many.
Kind regards,
🙏
