Anything they can do we can do better We can do anything better than them
It’s not just out there that’s undoing, breaking apart and shifting. The world is merely reflecting what is happening to us, in here. Every time we question, challenge and see through the lies, the world changes, the deceptions are revealed and the hidden secrets become known.
We are the force that is pushing out an old world and our old selves, pushing it back into the real world and our true selves. (Even if it doesn’t feel that way.)
A collective distillation is underway.
It’s uncomfortable.
Our many identities are always flowing and depending on what we are doing, some come to fore, some step back. Over time, identities may fully drop and new ones get picked up. We don’t always notice and we maybe don’t think of them as identities at all, but rather roles we are playing. Some of which we simply try on and can just as easily take off: a dancer, a birder a book club member.
Other identities are more fixed - mom, brother, daughter, husband, etc. These are less like roles, more like anchoring identities in a life, that shape and mold us. Though we recognize even in life-long relationships that entwine, we still maintain our own selves.
If we step back even a little, we can see how someone else’s life has been shaped by identity-relationships too, and of course an array of other factors- geography and income class, ethnicity etc.. and that had we been born into that place, or family, their life could be our life. Not exactly though - because each of us carries our own essential and unique blueprint (or literal fingerprint).
There is an essentialness, a uniqueness, we each carry. And that essential you abides in every role you play, every relationship you have.
If the world is not what we thought it was, then we are not who we thought we were.
Programmed from birth, given the roadmaps complete with the guardrails, most of us mostly followed the rules and - to varying degrees - did our best to fit in and find our way. We made compromises and adjustments, we gave up dreams in exchange for living in the ‘real world’ and likely tempered and tampered down some essential bits in the process.
As we go through the inevitable process of shedding all the big lies and their corresponding identities, it’s good to remember what’s real, stays. What’s real becomes clearer and more easily accessed.
Like any distillation, the point is to clarify.
The more muck and debris we remove, the clearer things get.
Hammering the point: everything we’re losing - in the out there and the in here - that wasn’t real, doesn’t threaten what is real. What’s real, stays.
We naturally think what we’re seeing in our chaotic world - is happening to us. Because of course, we’re not the ones making the big decisions like developing a digital-control system, or spending insane amounts of money and resources on war or figuring out ways to weaponize our judicial system. We easily feel like victims to these maneuverings. We don’t want them. Yet, there they are.
It’s easy enough to miss that these egregious moves, disruptions and attempts at control - which definitely effect us - are actually happening in response to us because we are becoming unmanageable.
That problem-reaction-solution playbook is now visible. And more and more are catching on.
When enough of us recognize our importance - as individuals and then as part of a larger whole - we become overtly in charge of how this world unfolds.
We don’t know what that will look like because we haven’t done it yet. But we do know - at least I know - it will be better than what they could ever do. Because we are caring humans with genuine values - not marketing jingles - and we know ourselves as free, divine, loving and creative wonders. Of course we’ll do better even if it gets messy. And it will.
Underlying everything is a loving intelligence that will support us. We are completely part of that loving intelligence, and as we go forward, trusting in that will open us more deeply to who we are in relation to it. What’s unseen and has been denied will find a central place in our lives. Unseen yet everywhere, always.
What changes the whole game, or really ends it, is just a small adjustment in our perception. It’s not that we are at the mercy of them and must perpetually respond to their latest move, it’s that they are at the mercy of us. They are always planning, reacting and responding to us.
Every attempt at censoring, every plan to provoke fear and seed division, every convoluted global organization full of non-elected ‘officials’ are the result of their growing recognition that we are on to them. That they are in fact, losing control. And they are also in conflict with each other.
You don’t need to lasso, gaslight, dim, distort, poison, program; divide, admonish,
hijack, co-opt, take over, and infiltrate nobodies. That’s a lot of work.
Only powerful people who threaten the control structure get that level of attention.
So who is really in charge here?
When we no longer agree to the structure of authority and experts they provided, then what?
Two empowering questions:
What is it about me, that has them so worried?
What is it about us, they fear most?
Don’t rush your answer. No auto-fill response supplied by a mind that’s been given the answer by someone else - even those well-intentioned.
Rather, take a moment to feel into it. Let yourself get quiet and still.
You have the answer. You know - it’s in you. And all the stuff that’s been layered over this world and us doesn’t change that.
It’s in there. You’re in there. That essential you.
What do you know in that silence beyond the current headlines and narratives churning? What do you know about you? When you pull away from the show - which is interesting for sure - what do you know?
What or who shows up in the stillness? What are you connected to? (What aren’t you connected to?)
In doing this we begin to access our essential identity - beyond all the identities and roles we play. Even the anchoring ones - there’s something deeper.
You can’t kill what’s eternal.
You can’t put out that forever flame.
You can’t limit the infinite.
They will - until they no longer can - attempt to tell us who we are. Whether it’s through religious beliefs, hijacked, or political identities weaponized, the larger message is always the same. Original sinners morphs into oxygen-breathing planet destroyers, where we’re always guilty despite having done nothing wrong.
We’ll tell you your place. We’ll provide the means to your salvation or your livelihood, as long as you follow our rules.
Haven’t we all had enough?
Anything they can do we can do better We can do anything better than them
It may seem like an overwhelming idea. The mind will get busy providing the obstacles, the but, but, buts will rush in. But really, we know what to do.
Birds don’t need to be taught to sing or to fly, trees don’t need coaxing to grow. The instructions are built in. Same for us. What we need will come, who we are will re-emerge and even shine. Nature shows the way.
Bit by bit, community by community, we transform this world.
We’re in charge of this massive undoing.
We’re in charge of this massive undoing.
We are in charge of this massive undoing.
Everything they told you, it’s the other way round.

Don Henley
"The End Of The Innocence"
Remember when the days were long
And rolled beneath a deep blue sky
Didn't have a care in the world
With mommy and daddy standin' by
But "happily ever after" fails
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers dwell on small details
Since daddy had to fly
But I know a place where we can go
That's still untouched by men
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
You can lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
O' beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They're beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
But I know a place where we can go
And wash away this sin
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
Who knows how long this will last
Now we've come so far, so fast
But, somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us
I need to remember this
So baby give me just one kiss
And let me take a long last look
Before we say goodbye
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
I love that you start and end with the childhood taunt, Kathleen! And it's such a playful one.
I had to look up 'Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.' to remember it was Oscar Wilde. What a wordsmith!
Were you knowingly quoting the Course or just intuiting it? The first page summarizes the book: "Whatever is real can't be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Therein lies the peace of God."
I was just thinking that we're always talking to our Self. I'm so grateful to have you as such an insightful and perceptive avatar of Me (the inclusive one) to tell me things I need to hear, and give attention to. I receive so much wisdom from you, my friend.
