An outrageous thunder storm woke me last night. And for the second time, in just the last few weeks, a crack of lightening happening in the skies, appeared (my inner vision) in my chest; I saw my upper body lite up with a bolt of lightening. I felt it too; like being blasted with an electrical charge.
What’s going on there? Never before, now twice in a few weeks…
Anyone else? Had to ask. It’s strange.
Anyway, I was thinking that those of us who were on to the Dr. Evil global plan to enslave humanity, in advance or early days, who saw past the veneer of a reality projected on to screens, still know relatively little about what’s really going on, here on planet earth.
Some of us think we do know, and many of us know at least enough to be up-in-arms. No doubt, plenty to be dismayed by or fume over - I’ve done my fair share.
We’re doing our best navigating familiar landscapes that suddenly turned menacing. With moving past the loss of reliable relationships, and dealing with new uncertainties as much of what we thought we knew fell into question or was fully undermined. And it’s all happening at faster and faster rates.
These are extraordinary times.
We try to identify the threats and those behind them because these are real threats to our health, our environment, our bodily existence and our future.
No shocker, living consciously with existential themes doesn’t make for a day in the park. The blissfully ignorant among us (I’m thinking of a couple right now) excepted. We naturally want to alert and protect others too - it weighs on us.
All of this is happening while the seasons do what they do and the sun rises and sets, flowers appear and birds sing. Life goes on, nature reassures us.
Which is both profound and mundane, making its message easily overlooked.
Continued heightened states of dread, fear, alarm - and the internal adjustments we make to accommodate those states - transforms us.
And, maybe, in some context buried deeply within our collective unconscious and/or emerging consciousness, it’s the point. Because even the experience of sustained threats to our existence eventually gets integrated into our evolving selves.
As we absorb previously unacceptable scenarios into our always-updating working model of reality; as the would never happen, happens and we shed former iterations now recognized as illusions, say goodbye to earlier versions of “self”, we must find deeper stratums within from which to extract, reassemble and emerge out of.
Most of this happens without our really noticing. We see it in retrospect: Gee last year that would have buried me but now I can actually laugh about it. The speed in which we require recovery from the latest blow gets shorter and shorter. Via the external pressures of a world in collapse, we’ve upgraded our inner operating systems.
It’s truly remarkable. We become new, stronger, more resilient versions of our previous selves who transcend the existential threats, grow bigger than the fears that triggered them, and may even come to see those threats as the catalyst needed for the deep transformation we’re in.
That’s cool. Hidden gifts.
We can have great compassion for each other because everyone is doing their best. The desire to “know” what’s happening, to find a narrative that explains it is not merely understandable, it’s often necessary to moving forward - even if that narrative turns out to be inadequate, short-lived, bridge-like and temporary.
How does one live in a Turtles All The Way Down world?
We’re finding out.
An ongoing challenge is the temptation to “lock” in on an explanation and story during rapid change. It won’t work. It tends to block out alternate info that doesn’t fit or support the new story. We inevitably create new blind spots and box ourselves in.
As we move forward, we won’t have time for that.
Fluid narratives, rather than fixed ones, an ability to pivot quickly, add or drop, stay-in-the-open-question as we progress will serve better.
When we think we “know” we close off and in that closing, the Universe which is always in communion with us, can’t be heard. It responds accordingly: Okay, you’re good then. Carry on.
It waits for an opening, for us to calm down, to put down, to go silent. If we provide the open space, we get what we need as we need it.
By Rebecca Vincent
A few days ago the sky stayed brooding. Most of day, brooding away. Why won’t you let loose and rain already? I wondered.
It was building and building. I imagined it was letting all the infinite stories, and the intricate network of energies that go with those stories running throughout the intersecting fields, build up so it could wash them all away in one grand deluge.
Finally, the skies broke and… rain. The relief was visceral. I felt it was inviting me to wash away my own outdated debris-like thoughts and stories, and start fresh.
We need humility. Patience - God help me cause it doesn’t come easily - and surrender. Not the I can’t do anything so I might as well give up, apathy version of surrender. Not the I’m a hopeless victim surrender either.
The surrender that comes as an acknowledgment that what’s happening is beyond our comprehension, the outcome is not in our hands yet we fully and integrally a part of it. While letting go of outcome, we are far from helpless, far from victims. And we most definitely, have a role to play.
As the theory and healing therapy of family constellations shows us, we play unconscious roles within the family unit and much of what we deal with as families include residual effects of our ancestry. (Held in fields) We don’t know these predestined roles, but play them we must. We can also extrapolate that the roles we assume, are carried with us, in varied forms, and reverberate out into new configurations in our larger communities and societies.
It must be this way- in some way - because we could not all play the same parts/roles obviously. That would be both boring and havoc producing.
Spiral Dynamics speaks to a similar dynamic in societies, where individuals resides at a certain ‘level’ of consciousness (usually associated with the family and often the wider culture) which holds distinct qualities and values. Some of these levels are more individual-oriented, some are more collective oriented and while we are capable of moving around the spiral (with some limitations) we tend to have a center of gravity where we primarily operate from. When we evolve, we move “up” the spiral, (if we do) and we do so as both individuals and as part of the group, keeping the entire spiral-like dynamic stable.
I’m really simplifying - so in super general terms - some of us push the envelope and some of us hold the line. Some attend to the structure and some to the flow; the yin and the yang. You get it.
Both are essential. We can, over the course of our life, live from more than one place in the spiral (and in fact do move about depending on context we’re in) though the push/hold orientation is often part of our essential make-up and larger place in the world.
It makes sense. For instance, we can’t all wake up at the same time - it would be disastrous. We also all can’t behave as if, even during times of turmoil, it’s still business as usual. This would also be calamitous.
So as much as some of us might scream for people to “get it” and wake up, (guilty) the pace of how that happens collectively requires a more nuanced and gradual change, (relatively speaking) so that throughout the evolving spiral we keep some semblance of order.
What I’m saying here is that the clueless normies (I rant about) are doing their jobs. (This doesn’t mean they always do them well, or play their roles in a healthy way - all of us - no matter where located in the spiral can express the qualities of that level with distortions. In times of great manipulation where distortions abound, this is often the case.) And truly, for those of us who do get impatient and want to push the river as it were, we too are just doing our jobs - however healthy or distorted.
Whether we are aware of it or not, the way we organize, change and grow as individuals in larger and larger circles of relationship, is to some extent already charted; it’s part of the behind-the-scenes mapping we were born into. We each have our roles to play in that invisible terrain.
The Visionaries: As we move through the spiral together, those out in front who knock down the mental barriers and push past accepted norms in advance of the rest of us, are often assessed as crazy. They have a tough job and will be viewed as insane but harmless at best, fully dangerous at worst. They will be mocked, they will be condemned. (Think Icke as example.) The message they bring is that the world you know is not what you think it is. They disrupt the status quo and push out the scope of the larger fields we live in. They may get some details wrong but it doesn’t matter because it’s really about the invisible markers they are laying out in the growing spiral we collectively expand into.
Early Adopters: Those who follow our visionaries, ie; conspiracy theorists, create the beginning of the energetic (morphic) underpinnings or fields required for this new expanding consciousness to grow, it’s still quite fragile at this stage, requires a good amount of defending, though will eventually take shape and shift the whole spiral.
Mainstream Adopters: These come next - the majority of us - and once this happens, a new equilibrium is established.
Late Adopters: The last of the normies, our late-adopters can finally leave their former posts as it were, once enough stability has been reached at the new higher level. Also, not an easy job, since they take a lot of heat too.
This is always happening; this invisible orchestration and dance. And I’m sure it’s far more complex and intricate that I could begin to imagine.
This orchestration amounts to a fully different hidden hand from the one I tend to write about - the one who moves the laser pointer and our focus around at its will; the puppeteer pulling the strings, to mix metaphors. The false power, the doomed-to-fail-would-be-controllers.
The Hidden Hand of real power, behind our family constellations and larger societal evolution is benevolent and vast; (though can be ruthless and harsh) it takes far more into consideration than any of us can see or grasp - including the visionaries among us.
Call it God, call it Source, call it Nature - it intelligently composes great complexity and when we acknowledge and align to that, the Hidden Hand of real power, surrendering our limited understanding to it, we stop shouting at the heavens like aggrieved children.
In exchange for handing over our personal accounts of reality (and I’m not saying we won’t have them, but we can hold them lightly, stay open to being wrong, to being corrected, and to letting them go) we get out of our own way, restore our relationship to the infinite and ineffable and can once again be receptive to that deeper current running through and behind the unseen and the seen.
When we exchange hubris for mystery, we tap the ethereal yet primal vein that connects us to this Source and we know, we are in good hands.
This is a good deal, a good exchange, no? It’s like trading insanity for sanity, anxiety for peace. Why wouldn’t we?
No matter how it looks, when accepting its outside of our control, but still benevolently held, sanity is restored. (Holding that state requires some discipline - I’ll get back to you when I figure it out.)
We are invited every day into the matrix. Click on a link, watch a video, read that, get sucked into some version of “reality”. They are all just snippets, fractals, and many come with hidden agendas. (Often hidden even from the one putting the information out. We don’t know what we don’t know, and that includes about ourselves.)
While this preponderance of bad-news-info-gathering has its place, it’s not leading us to a final destination. It can’t. There was, maybe still is, a need for it, and a lot of good stuff is shared in the process, a lot of neurons light up and connections get made.
Still, the hard truth is we can’t know what’s going on by endlessly gathering information. That gathering-info method was part of the slave system that’s breaking down, and not really how natural humans come to know something. That method for understanding the world is going away. Another kind of knowing is being restored, in the not-too-distant future.
My stack, has been from the start, about the positive future on the other side of the collapse, and I should amend that. Because while I continue to believe that strongly, it’s not just positive in the future.
There is a lot of positive right now. Staying focused only on the bad news is like refusing to utilize an essential tool readily available in your toolbox, that would make the task at hand go so much better. Worse it pulls you out of the deeper story we are living through and part of, the story of humanity in transformation, overcoming extraordinary obstacles.
Go sit under a tree. Or talk to the river. Feel the truth of the natural world that you are actually part of and that is the daily - profound and mundane -manifestation of the real Hidden Hand.
Here is the reassuring presence, made manifest in world of everyday life.
The sun will come up. The stars will come out. The birds will sing, the flowers will bloom. Life, amazing mysterious life, goes on.

I've been feeling positive about these changes too.
The time from a lie to the truth has shortened a lot because of con-vid.
Sooner or later it'll be so short that lies will be almost useless.
This! "Still, the hard truth is we can’t know what’s going on by endlessly gathering information." Thank you. Beautiful stack and so insightful.♥
