I like that lonely, seen-many-a-letter mailbox… feeling the in-between lately too.

was watching CNBC despite being in the in-between and saw something flash back & forth in front of the talking head. at first thought it was a person who just walked past camera accidentally but went back frame by frame & it was a weird beach-ball-like silver orb that rolled back & forth with a blurry reflection of what looked like Yosemite valley on it… was thinking all weekend about how they’re messing with us big-time… think it’s especially draining for empaths.

You beautifully express the out-of-time and kilter feeling I've had for many months now. It feels like a liminal state, as if something is about to be born. And I know what you mean about people looking sketchy these days. They seem not quite there. Everybody (and everything) feels different in a way I cannot explain in the language I once used to explain things.

It's nice too know someone else feels like I do. I have the ability/curse of being very observant of peoples appearance and feelings and my surroundings. My partner doesnt notice half of the things I do. But when she does it's often something i havent noticed. I think we are all tuned in to different levels of perception.

Thank you Kathleen. You've touched a nerve. In these craziest of times, I find myself wandering in foreign territory from time to time. Just wandering. I love the mail box!

My nose is pressed against the glass. With envy. You have a robust, colorful inward life in your corner of the universe. Mine is disgustingly stable and predictable. The world needs both, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to visit yours ever once in a while?

It was but it wasn't. Starry night? No. I had no idea there was a second, Starry Night over the Rhone. I like it better.

Beautifully said, Kathleen. I too inhabit the in-between. Sometimes I can move into it by intention - thinking of it as the pause space between the in breath and the out, imagining the vastness of space within each particle of our material collective self. Creatures notice you are in the zone, and you can effortlessly converse with everything- plants, water and babies telepathically, which is profound, and sad, all at once.

I keep saying to my kids, and anyone else who will listen, "we have NO CLUE what this world really is, what is really going on." I usually say it when we are talking about healing, or love, or death, or water...

In those moments when I fully accept this cluelessness, I find myself in the in-between you've described so beautifully, Kathleen. It's a good place to be these days...maybe even any day.

Love your writing. ❤️

This the reality of "space and time."

In-between is the space of reality.

In transition is the time of reality.

As a result, it is a time for being in the space of becoming something new.

If we never experience this, life is missing something.

I look forward to hearing about what you see coming.

I can always count on you to take me on a dream like journey.

Yes, the in-between can feel both unpredictable but also free of expectations. Love the bird calling out to you. And agreed, you’re both needed and wanted.

I did a play about Van Gough a long time ago. Did you know he had an affair with an elderly woman who was his landlady when he was a young man. He felt like she was the only one he can talk to. He didn’t he give her an ear tho. 😬 I’ll see myself out, thanks.

Sounds like you've activated your right brain hemisphere, as per Iain McGilchrist's work. May be the "in-between" is the corpus collosum which separates the left and right hemispheres...

I wondered where you had been. Now I know...the In-Between. Van Gogh is one of my favorites and you are right. I think that is where he lived all the time. Not such a bad place to be.♥

This is real nice.

I feel like I am in a state of 'hypernormalisation.' The Soviets felt this and I thought it fit for 'now.' https://vicparkpetition.substack.com/p/hypernormalisation-the-australian
