I don't know who I will vote for in 2024, but I am glad to have watched his recent speech at Hillsdale. At a minimum, his running and this speech will raise awareness about what's going on. We need that more than anything right now.

(I also appreciate how he speaks off-the-cuff. No prompter, no scripted word by word speech. I miss speeches like this.)

Kennedy’s run then represents a new chapter in the United States story that comes with near mythological proportions; the son returns to face the very forces that took his father and uncle out. (The individual players may have changed, but the underworld they operate in, remains.) A generations-in-the-waiting moment of potential redress, atonement, and even - shall we hope? - triumph over those forces.

Poignant statement.

I haven't voted the last 3-4 presidential cycles, before that was mostly through the various third parties. I don't want to vote democrat, but I will for this story.

The Boston Globe did not even have the courage to write it' own story about his run, they took a 2 paragraph story for the NY times and copied that, shameful. Knowing how articulate he is I think it will be hard for the papers to ignore him for long. May Gods light be with him as he runs.

Happy Easter, Kathleen.

I have to wonder how many of the country's inhabitants actually know anything about the Kennedys -- the family and the murder of two of its public figures. The sorry state of the place on so many levels...

I'm still making up my mind about RFK, Jr.'s run while still marveling at the ongoing reverence for the Presidency -- a role the Constitution clearly makes more figurehead than king.

Thanks for writing this, Kathleen. You make some good points which are worth pondering. I have supported RFK, Jr. since 2020 and have really respected his work throughout this whole crisis. I have been of the opinion that the whole structure of our government needs to collapse in on itself, but in the the interim it would be important to have a trustworthy individual holding the space until we can get our

act together, especially someone who at least genuinely believes we, the people, have inalienable rights, such as bodily sovereignty. That said, I wish he weren't running as a Democrat. I've voted third party since Nader ran in 1996. I despise our electoral system.

I realize that Bobby is not a faultless individual, but none of us are. I'm sure all his skeletons will be dragged out of the closet, as they already are, for all to see. Some others of his policy positions I do not support such as his belief in Climate change, global warming or whatever, but I will really need to hear it from him before I judge. I haven't spent any time researching it yet.

One thing I do know, faults and all, God can use whoever he wants to accomplish his purposes, and His purposes have my vote any day.

Thanks for your exploration of this topic. Many of us are thinking of this possibility. It offers a unique perspective which works outside and against the current narrative. You’re right - difficult if not impossible to trust the election process as viable at all. Catastrophe seems to exist at every turn the current leaders (pirates) take. My intent is to do everything possible to avoid these looming catastrophes for us all. Seeking further understanding. Happy & beautiful Easter!

Thank you for a more than worthwhile article, Kathleen. As a fellow de-registrant, I'm uncertain which path I would take, should an RFK Jr run for the roses become a reality. Happy Easter!

The Fourth Turning is an excellent book, but its depth of knowledge is a bit over my head. I do know that it resonated TRUTH in my soul. I've got to pick it up again and start from the beginning...

RFK Jr's run is definitely going to be interesting! Before that white rabbit came along, muttering, fretting and looking at his pocket watch, I was a Republican. We were the "good guys", and if only we could get them all elected, all would be great... Lol. Like many others, I support Robert on the vaxx issue, but am baffled as to his views on "Climate Change". I also support some aspects of Trump and Desantis, but not others. It's almost like the conversations which must result are more important than who ultimately wins...

Dear Kathleen, this is a really great article, thank you for it. Until now the "This is not an I told you so" was my favourite, but this one takes it all! I translated some parts for my family (I am a german/hungarian bilingual) and they were impressed, too. God Bless your Heart! Warm greetings from Austria!

A beautiful essay, Kathleen, and one that I agree with wholeheartedly. Your point about his family legacy resonates deeply; there IS power in the mythical story of a son seeking justice. Like others, I'm concerned for his safety -- yet I also know that his dedication to truth is, for him, worth dying for. If he's making the choice to run of his own free will, all I can do is offer my support and pray for divine protection.

Other commenters mention rightly that we are not in need of a hero to save us all. It's true, we're not. But someone who burns with moral integrity can light a million internal fires... which IS what we need.

"what makes him most compelling is his family legacy."

As an Australian with a King as the head of state a humble word of warning about this line of thinking. The best thing about America is that every citizen is their own 'king.' Australians (and Canadians) are subjects and don't we know it.

In other threads about RFK Jr running, there's healthy skepticism about his global warming policy.

It doesn't worry me though.

Rfk Jr might be truly naive about the science being corrupted. But he is way more open minded than the puppets that we have had for decades.

He's willing to call out corporate influence and unlike Bernie, he's not tied to the system for his career.

That's what Trump was supposed to be, an outsider who was going to drain the swamp. Unfortunately, Trump put old school neocons in the swamp lol.

Rfk Jr needs to be open about how what he's saying is dangerous because of the endemic corruption. It will protect him from being offed, because if it does happen, there would be a storm of his speeches on social media etc as evidence that the system most likely pulled it off. People will not forget, they will question whatever bullshit official story is given.

Even if he doesn't win the nomination (possibly due to rigged electronic voting machines that both the Democrats and Republicans ignore in favor of crying about mail in voting etc), he will shift the Overton window to where all politicians will need to address the current issues. That will open the door to reforms that may or may not be effective. At least the channel of dialog will be open, unlike today's repeated denials and cover ups.

Btw, JFK walked into his own assassination. Perhaps he even engineered it, knowing that he was targeted. (But he didn't communicate it openly, because it was taboo to talk about such "crazy conspiracy talk" at the time. Thankfully, today is much more receptive to conspiracies. )

At the airfield during the setup of the motorcade, the route was changed to have the slow speed left turn. A couple of seasoned secret service agents were upset at this break of protocol. An open top convertible parade needs speed to prevent the risk of getting targeted and hit. Those agents protested to the president, but he still decided to go on with the flawed motorcade plan.

Like Julius Caesar walking into his assassination, JFK did the same. Sad!

Perhaps he thought that this would change the public to stand up against the deep state. Some did, but the times were not as receptive to questioning the system as the time was relatively good for Americans.

But now we are clearly in the throes of state corporatism, fascism. People are suffering physically and economically. The world stage is brokering peace between nations that used to be our war allies.

The time is ripe for a president that reforms the current system. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some powerful interests that see the writing on the wall after the convid debacle and are trying to save face of the system.

I think Kissinger, however dark he is, was one such individual who did this during Nixon, who passed a lot of progressive reforms. He started the EPA and helped improve labor laws. Then the neoliberals took over the system and squeezed the blood out of the nation by lying lying lying!

Sorry for the rambling. I'm looking at how rfk Jr is a positive force no matter what happens with his run. The timing is perfect, a checkmate of sorts.

🤞 Fingers crossed.

My friend shared this on her Substack this morning and it’s so in line with my own experience. I was born in 1950 and grew up in the fear of a nuclear apocalypse - the first president I remember paying any attention to was JFK and like everyone else I can never forget that moment in the eight grade of learning about his murder. And also of what happened to RFK Sr which happened to be the night I graduated from high school. Along with all else going on in the 1960’s it was quite a eye opening way to go through adolescence.

But now a half century later with so much coming into light about how deeply corrupted things are, especially among those we were taught to believe were helping us, it’s easy to get discouraged and just find the most convenient way to escape from looking at them. But remembering the energy and enthusiasm I felt and the way it got stolen from all of us, something feels so right about Bobby being in this presidential campaign. He’s in it to win it and many of us are standingbehind him; but just hearing him address matters of dire importance is a victory for truth in its own right.

The song American Pie written back then reminds me of “the day the music died”. It sure felt that way as so many people filled with ideals, hopes and aspirations seemed to drift off into a deep slumber while the cunning and clever opportunists came along to sell us false dreams. Since the plandemic began 3 years ago we’ve witnessed a great awakening that appears to be spreading as it touches those hopes while reminding us that we can do a lot better. But first we need to open our eyes, our minds and our hearts. RFK Jr’s campaign provides an excellent avenue to move forward. This is a time like no other I’ve ever seen and we need great men to inspire and uplift us - he’s certainly one of them.

"For those who believe truth matters, this is a hellish landscape where they find themselves unable to breakthrough the maze; confined to an echo-chamber of others who feel the same, locked in to perpetual outrage, astonishment and sadness. "

You are in my head, Kathleen! Beautifully, poignantly put.

I don't place much hope in elections or candidates, but you're right, this could shine the light on some dark parts of our institutions that the cave-imprisoned public would otherwise not see.
